In this newly revised program, students learn about the programming, design and maintenance of intelligent systems and computerized devices. They develop in-depth knowledge of electronic circuitry and solid programming skills in industry-standard languages. Students also take courses in computer networking, robotics and mathematics, where they dive into topics like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT).
This project-based program is designed to equip students with analytical and practical experience, which is cemented through a 3-week internship in the final semester. As qualified Embedded Systems technologists, graduates go on to a range of careers in software, computer design and maintenance, and manufacturing. These skills are in high demand in growing sectors such as robotics, smart technology and automated vehicle systems.
About 50% of our graduates pursue related studies in university, opting for programs in electrical, computer, mechanical and software engineering. Many receive credits for courses completed at Vanier and finish their undergraduate degrees in less than four years.
