The catalogue is searchable by title, author, subject and keyword. To check out material, bring it to the Circulation Desk (F-300) and present your ID card.
If you need a library item that is already checked out, you can place it on hold. This can be done through the online catalogue or with the help of a staff member. You will be notified once a book is returned and it will be held for you at the circulation desk for 48 hours. Books on reserve cannot be put on hold.
Books on a two-week loan can be renewed up to three times. Renewal is done through the online catalogue or at the library’s circulation desk (with your items in hand). Items on hold or reserve cannot be renewed. Any outstanding fees must be paid before renewal.
When a phone call requesting the return of library material is made, the item(s) must come back within 48 hours or fines will be charged.

You can pay your library fines:
If payment cannot be made upon returning the item, it remains on your record without accruing.
All payments must be made by the end of each semester. All outstanding fines are then reported to the College Accounting Department, which places a block on your Omnivox account (preventing registration) until payment is received.
The acquisition of materials is subject to available budget and they must adhere to the library’s collection development guidelines.
Please note that due to the spending freeze announced in September 2024, this service has been suspended.
The Vanier Library has laptop computers available for short-term loan at the Circulation Desk (F-300).
