Located in what used to be a chapel, the three storey library provides a welcoming environment for all members of the Vanier community to conduct research, study and receive assistance with their information needs.
The library offers:
The Vanier library uses the Library of Congress Classification System to catalogue our materials. We have a large collection of books (non-fiction and fiction), DVDs, CDs, vinyls, and encyclopaedias for use in the library. The library also maintains subscriptions to academic databases that provide access to scholarly journal articles, eBooks, documentary films, images and streaming music.
Our librarians are available to help you with program and subject-specific research. We also provide up-to-date subject guides and bibliographies for a range of programs to point students to relevant sources of information. These, plus other resources related to citation and copyright, can be found here.
In addition to the general quiet and silent study areas, 4 individual rooms are available for group study. Printers are located on every floor of the library, as well as in the STEM Center and TASC. Students may also use a computer station or borrow a laptop, headphones or an iPad at the circulation desk on short-term loans.
