Mr. John McMahon, Director General of Vanier College is pleased to announce that after two days of mounting excitement and imaginative presentations at the Scotiabank Vanier College 2020 National Marketing Case Competition on February 8 and 9, 2020, the first place Gold Award went to Okanagan Collegefrom British Columbia. Congratulations to the Okanagan Team composed of students Nora Glanzner, Kevin Heller, Spencer McIntosh and their Coaches Blair Baldwin, Mark Ziebarth and Caroline Gilchrist.
The Silver Award went to Durham College whose team consisted of Kaitlyn Brasier, Chin-Ting Sherwin, Brendan Scott, Ryan Ashton with coaches Jonathan Carrigan and Sheldon Koufman and Dean Kevin Baker. And, the Bronze Award went to Algonquin College composed of Brenden McBride, Kaleb Yadeta, Brian Mikula, Pushpvir Singh, their coaches Bill Garbarino and Jim Neubauer and their Department Chair, Katherine Root.
The three other teams that made it to the finals were Sheridan College, Red River College, and Vanier College. During the weekend event, twenty-three teams of marketing students from colleges across Canada had three hours to analyze a real marketing case and present viable marketing solutions before a panel of expert judges.
"The Marketing Case Competition is a perfect example of how a collaboration between Vanier College and an organization such as Scotiabank, the principal sponsor of this event, can create unique learning opportunities for students that motivate them in their educational and career pursuits," said M. McMahon.

David Moscovitz, the principal organizer of the Scotiabank Vanier College National Marketing Case Competition, was thrilled with this year's competition. "I continue to be impressed with the quality of the participants and their presentations, with the commitment of the faculty who work with them and with the passion of everybody from colleges across Canada. It is exhilarating to see how this event has evolved over the past 15 years. And this year I am especially proud of the Vanier team that was the only cegep to reach the finals, and thereby earn the position as the top team in Quebec."
Congratulations as well to the twelve Scotiabank award winners, which represented the four top winners from the three competition divisions on Saturday:
Cégep André-Laurendeau, Collège Édouard‐Montpetit, Vanier College, Collège André-Grasset, Champlain College, Algonquin College, Durham College, Niagara College, Seneca College, Sheridan College, Red River College, and Okanagan College.
