Vanier’s Cassandra Lefebvre wins a 2025 Aléo Foundation and National Bank Bursary

March 31, 2025

Congratulations to Vanier student and artistic swimmer Cassandra Lefebvre the proud recipient of a $2,000 Aléo Foundation-National Bank 2025 Bursary. Celebrating its long-standing partnership with National Bank, the Aléo Foundation hosted the 33rd edition of the National Bank Bursary Program in mid March. This year, a total of $100,000 in bursaries and services was awarded to 22 student athletes from 18 different sports, in recognition of their athletic and academic achievements.

At a ceremony held at National Bank’s head office, bursary recipients received not only a cheque but also lifetime access to the Aléo Foundation services. Bursary recipients automatically become lifelong members of the Aléo family, which grants them access to guidance, mentoring, career transition support, communications services and many other benefits, both during and after their athletic careers.

For seventeen-year-old Cassandra, who is studying Social Science at Vanier, this is her first Aléo Foundation-National Bank bursary.  It is well-deserved recognition for this talented athlete. Indeed, Cassandra won a Gold Medal in artistic swimming technical events at the Panam Artistic Swimming Championships in the summer of 2023. That same year, she also won a Gold Medal for her acrobatic routine at the Canadian Championships.

“This season, my goals are to finish on the podium in my three team events at the 2025 Canadian Championships to be held in Markham, as well as finish in the top five in my 2 solo events,” says Cassandra.

Congratulations to Cassandra Lefebvre for her athletic successes and academic prowess, and best of luck in the future.
