Teach at the Vanier Language School

The Vanier College Language School is always looking for motivated and dynamic language teachers, particularly for our English and French part-time classes, but also occasionally for some of our other language classes!

The Vanier College Language School offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to be offered more classes with experience and strong performances.

The starting salary for new language teachers is $38.55 per hour of teaching.

How to apply

  1. Go through our Program List to ensure that the types of courses offered and the schedules work for you
  2. Fill out the Teacher Interest Form
  3. Send the Teacher Interest Form as well as your CV by email to languageschool@vaniercollege.qc.ca.
  4. Expect to be contacted by a Language School staff member with information about your application (within ~1 week) and potentially an invitation to an interview via MS TEAMS.
  5. If invited to an interview, please make sure that you have familiarized yourself with our programs and class schedules prior to meeting with us

Conditions

To keep in mind when applying to teach at the Vanier Language School:

  • While the Vanier Language School is affiliated with Vanier College, teachers hired at the Vanier Language School are not hired as general Vanier College teachers for courses outside of the Language School.  Should you be seeking full-time employment as a Faculty Member at Vanier College, you will need to submit an application to Vanier’s Human Resources Department.
  • The majority of our contracts are for our part-time courses.  We are very rarely able to offer new teachers a contract in our full-time (EAP/FTP) programs
  • Vanier College is not able to provide international applicants with sponsorship for a Work Permit. International applicants are welcome to apply if they are eligible to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship from an employer.
