Unlock your path to a DCS in Special Education Techniques through the RAC evaluation process

In this program, students immerse themselves in the RAC process, a unique pathway to attaining a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in Special Education Techniques (formerly known as Special Care Counselling). Through this journey, students gain formal recognition for the skills and knowledge they've cultivated over the years in the field. The program's curriculum focuses on evaluating competencies through formal, informal, and non-formal workplace and life experiences. Students can leverage their existing expertise, avoiding the need for retraining. The time to complete the RAC evaluation process varies, depending on the number of competencies in the DCS program assessed for each student. Students can maintain full-time employment as they engage with RAC content specialists, who offer evening and weekend availability. The critical step in RAC admission is the Validation Interview conducted by our content specialists, which evaluates the depth of experience. Furthermore, special incentives, such as scholarships, work-study programs, and internships enrich the learning experience, making Vanier College the ideal choice for those looking to further their career in Special Education Techniques. Join us to turn your experience into a recognized qualification.

I am so grateful that a program such as this RAC exists! I was able to further my career within the School Board and have been a Special Education Technician since completing the program. The flexibility was appreciated to be able to manage a positive work and family life balance.  My content specialist was amazing, knowledgeable and understanding when other responsibilities interfered.
