This material is complemented by classes in psychology and the sociology of health, in addition to language classes designed for the nursing and healthcare sector. As part of their coursework, students also regularly participate in laboratory exercises and simulations to gain hands-on experience.
Vanier’s Nursing students benefit from access to the latest technologies as well as mentoring and tutoring programs. Our third-year students also have the opportunity to apply for a clinical internship in Malawi, Africa, thanks to a partnership between Vanier and the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS). Students may also take advantage of the extended program option (completing their DCS in 4 years instead of 3) and our integrated program with McGill University, which offers Vanier graduates a bachelor’s degree in Nursing in just two years.
