Again, this year, Vanier College will host the Annual Scotiabank Vanier College National Marketing Case Competition taking place on February 28-March 2, 2025. Twenty-five Colleges and Cegeps from across Canada will be in Montreal to compete in both official languages for this National Collegiate Marketing case competition.
“This will be the 20th edition of the marketing case competition,” says George Dracopoulos, Vanier Case Competition Co-Founder and principal organizer. “Over the years we have had the pleasure of hosting over 50 unique Colleges from coast-to-coast-to coast (from British Columbia, to Newfoundland, to the Yukon). This year, 25 Colleges are registered and primed to compete. Year after year this high-quality event offers a unique opportunity for development and networking to our students. They get the chance to analyze real-world companies and to compete with and meet peers from across the nation.”
Case competitions demand imagination, knowledge, clear thinking, and good presentation skills. To be selected to their teams, students must compete internally at their respective Colleges. The successful candidates demonstrate a combination of analytic capabilities, creativity, and mastery of marketing theory and application. Congratulations to students Callum Stone, Cyrill Jay Paragas, Mathew Connors, and Adriano Palacios (photo left to right) who will join coaches Megan Pepe and Jessica Andrews to form the Vanier team for the 2025 event.
During the Case Competition students, in teams of three, are isolated for three hours to analyze a real-world marketing problem they have never seen before, create a Power Point presentation then present a marketing plan before a judging panel of experts from business, industry and higher education.
The colleges and Cegeps signed up for the 2025 competition are: Cégep de Drummondville, Collège Ahuntsic, Collège Édouard‐Montpetit, Collège André-Grasset, Collège Montmorency, Dawson College, John Abbott College, Marianopolis College, Champlain College, and Vanier College from Québec; Algonquin College, Cambrian College, Durham College, George Brown College, Fanshawe College, Collège La Cité, Niagara College, Seneca College, Sheridan College, and St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technology from Ontario; Medicine Hat College from Saskatchewan; Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from Alberta; Okanagan College from British Columbia; Nova Scotia Community College from Nova Scotia; and College of the North Atlantic from Newfoundland.
The main competition will take place on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at the Montreal Airport Marriott in Terminal Hotel), 800 Place Leigh-Capreol, Dorval, QC H4Y 0A4, 514-636-6700. Team presentations begin at 10:00 AM and run until 3:15 PM on Saturday. Because of the large number of participants, there will be three theatres of presentations on Saturday. That evening, the top two teams from each of the three theatres will be announced at a gala dinner at 7:00 PM. These top six teams will then go on to compete in the finals Sunday morning, March 2, 2025, following which, an awards luncheon will take place.
