Complementary courses are divided into CATEGORIES and SETS.
Categories
- Science
- Social Science
- Arts, Literature and Communication
- Languages
- Universal (can be taken by students from all programs)
Sets
The Categories are further divided into Sets. Sets are distinguished from one another by the letters S and T:
Set 1: 530-HSA
Set 2: 530-HTA
- If the complementary courses are taken from the same Category, the courses must be taken from the two different sets.
- If the complementary courses are taken from two different Categories, the rule of Sets does not apply.
- When registering for a complementary course, make sure you pick a section in which the 3 middle characters are letters. For example, if you want to take a photography course as a complementary, choose 500-HTA, not 500-101.
